While the miracle of childbirth is a beautiful and sacred thing, many women find themselves unhappy with the changes that pregnancy brings to their bodies. The Mommy Makeover is a tailored combination of complementary procedures, designed to restore your pre-pregnancy figure or achieve your goal body. Commonly performed after at least 6 months after pregnancy (or concluding breast feeding for breast procedures), the Mommy Makeover offers a way to dramatically turn back the hands of time and boost a new mother’s confidence in her appearance.
Prior to the surgery, you will fill out consent forms. General anesthesia will be administered, and we recommend that you arrange to have someone drive you to and from the appointments.
Please Note: These are general estimates that may or may not apply to you individually.
We accept all major credit cards, debit cards, cash, and cashier checks. We also work with two third-party financing companies, Care Credit and Alphaeon Credit. You can find more information and apply for credit online using the links below.
During your consultation, Dr. Anita will take time to learn more about your motivations and goals, understand your concerns, and discuss the treatment in detail. She will go through your medical history and perform a physical exam in order to determine the best plan to reach your goals, and make sure you are a good candidate for surgery.
The day of surgery, Dr. Anita will meet with you in the pre-operative area, review the planned procedure(s), and mark the surgical site. This is also a time you can go over any additional questions you may have prior to surgery.
After surgery, you will be provided with postoperative care instructions, and instructions for follow-up. Dr. Anita will see you for the first postoperative visit 1-2 days after surgery, with an additional visit the week after for drain removal if appropriate. Additional postoperative visits are typically spaced at 2 weeks, 6 weeks, 3 months, 6 months, and 1 year after surgery.
A Mommy Makeover is a plastic surgery procedure that is designed to restore one’s pre-pregnancy figure. Mommy makeovers include a combination of procedures that address the most common post-pregnancy concerns, such as loose belly skin, deflated or drooping breasts, and fatty deposits at the love handles.
A Mommy Makeover typically consists of a breast lift or augmentation, a tummy tuck, and liposuction. In some cases it may also include lipo of other areas or labiaplasty.
In Mommy Makeovers, a number of surgical procedures done at the same time, and as with any surgery, there are risks involved. Generally speaking they are safe procedures, when done in good candidates and taking appropriate safety precautions.
After a typical Mommy Makeover, you can expect lifted and/or fuller breasts, a tightened abdomen with removal of loose skin, and a smaller waistline.
To prepare for a Mommy Makeover, you want to wait at least 6 months after pregnancy for a tummy tuck (and 6 months from the completion of breastfeeding for any breast procedure), and be at a stable weight. You also want to make sure you have help at home during the postoperative period, since you should not be doing any heavy lifting (this includes any children over 15 lbs) during your early recovery period. During your recovery period, instead of you taking care of everyone else, someone needs to take care of you.
Mommy Makeovers generally take about 5-7 hours depending on what specific procedures are being performed.
The recovery time for a abdominoplasty is generally 2 weeks off of work (or at minimum 1 week), and 6 weeks off from working out. The main concern during recovery is making sure you are walking, to prevent getting a blood clot. The recovery from a Mommy Makeover is the same, so for a busy mom, it may be advantageous to have one recovery period rather than several if the procedures were done one at a time.
The cost for Mommy Makeover will depend on many factors, including which specific procedures are to be performed. To provide you with accurate pricing information, we invite you to book a complimentary Pre-Consult Phone Call with our Patient Care Coordinator by calling 310-205-0212. During that phone call, important information will be discussed and ballpark pricing will be provided.
